چکیده

Investigations were made to study the effects of three nemato-pathogenic fungi viz. Purpureocillium lilacinum, P. lilacinum + neem cake, Pochonia chlamydosporia and Trichoderma sp. as well two synthetic insecticides (cartap hydrochloride and carbosulfan) against Root-knot Nematodes (RKN) cardamom at farmers’ fields in locations Idukki district, Kerala, India during 2016- 2019. Results revealed that combined application with cake gave maximum reduction typical symptoms infestation like leaf narrowing (6.42%) root knot formation (1.32 nos.) followed by 8.04% narrowed leaves 1.83 knots. The combination (0.82 kg/plant 2.99) by P. (0.71 2.71 recorded highest yield Benefit Cost Ratio, respectively). Bio-control agents are therefore efficient environmentally safer for managing RKN cardamom. Future studies can be directed focus on compatibility efficiency enhancement these bio-agents organic amendments.

The Nematodes are roundworms that are found in every environment of the earth. While some species are harmful parasites, others play a vital role in nutrient cycle and medical research. Nematode infestation in the fields is poly-specific; however, depending on the agro-climatic conditions, one or two species are dominant over the rest. The present studies attempts to observe and control the roo...

Cot curves derived from renaturation kinetics of sheared denatured DNA indicated that the genome of six populations representing the four most common root-knot nematode species (Meloidogyne incognita, M. arenaria, M. javanica, and M. hapla) is composed of 20% repetitive and 80% nonrepetitive sequences of DNA. Cot curves were almost identical, indicating that all populations had a haploid genome...

Elettaria cardamomum (L.) Maton, known as 'queen of spices, is a perennial herbaceous monocot of the family Zingiberaceae, native to southern India. Cardamom is an economically valuable spice crop and used widely in culinary and medicinal purposes. In the present study, using Ion Proton RNA sequencing technology, we performed transcriptome sequencing and de novo transcriptome assembly of a wild...
